Volunteer with CanSLAM
A project like this requires many hands to come together. Industry members from Canada and the United States are working with us to bring the CanSLAM to life and the students are leading the way. You are all an essential part of what we're doing.

Volunteering with CanSLAM is a great way to gain industry experience and meet like-minded individuals. As a volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to connect with manufacturers, sales representatives, industry users, and enthusiasts. You'll also be able to share your own experience with other members of the industry and allow you to become familiar with the foundation of the robotics/geomatics merger.

Operations Committee
These are the 'field helpers' as much as schedulers. You will showcase your skills in control network establishment and placement by setting up control points and scans for the project. Operations members will ensure the site is ready for scanning and escort participants through the course. Students may have the opportunity operate SLAM scanners if invited to, or if an instrument is sent without a technician.
Evaluation Committee
Collaborate with experts in the field to evaluate the suggested courses and the steps taken to build the control scene and data. Identify regions in the scene where the systems can undergo rigorous, impartial performance tests, and compile the necessary data for the report and presentation of findings.
Outreach Committee
Assist in maintaining the CanSLAM's relevance by staying informed about global mobile mapping and SLAM platforms and manufacturers. Identify the aspects of these systems that are relevant to various industries to help create industry-specific presentations. The outreach committee will compile presentation slides and articles with guidance from industry professionals, and committee members will have priority for presentation when appropriate.
